Who Qualifies
for Assistance?
United Roots supports families experiencing financial hardship who need dependable childcare to pursue employment, education, training, or greater family stability.
Because every family’s circumstances are different, submitting an application is the first step in determining eligibility.
You may qualify if you:
- Are a parent, guardian, foster parent, or kinship caregiver
- Need childcare while working or searching for employment
- Attend school, college, or a job-training program
- Need childcare because of a medical need or family crisis
- Are experiencing financial hardship
- Can provide the information needed to verify your household circumstances
Documents you may need:
Depending on your household and sources of income, you may be asked to provide:
- Recent paycheck stubs
- SNAP, TANF, SSI, or SSDI documentation
- Child-support documentation
- Housing-assistance verification
- Foster-care payment documentation
- Shelter-verification letter, when applicable
- Most recent tax return, when requested
- Other documents relevant to your application
